Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with general aviation, airline, maintenance, and/or operation of airport facilities in accordance with governmental agency or commission policies and regulations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors over multiple locations.

  • Manage one (1) to four (4) subordinate General Managers.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees; address complains, and resolve problems.
  • Consult with commission members, governmental officials, and representatives of airlines to plan such matters as formulation of operating rules, regulations, and procedures; aircraft landing, taxiing, and take-off for various types of aircraft.
  • Negotiate with prospective hangar tenants for lease of buildings and/or hangar space.
  • Formulate procedures for use in event of aircraft accidents, fires, or other emergencies.
  • Coordinate activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of aircraft and ground service equipment.
  • Direct preparation of work schedules to obtain optimum utilization of human resources and facilities.
  • Direct activities of ramp, cargo, baggage handling, and cleaning to ensure operations meet Company and government policies and regulations.
  • Evaluate training and performance records of employees to determine and formulate training designed to increase employee efficiency.
  • Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
  • May oversee the performance of these duties at one or more off-site locations.

    The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or jet engine noise.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Read, write, and fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Write speeches and articles for publication that conform to the prescribed style and format.
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Frequently required to travel to assigned Signature Flight Support locations.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four (4) year college or university plus one (1) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess excellent management skills and prior general aviation experience.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License.
